Union of Doctors and Engineers NGO
The Union of Doctors and Engineers NGO (UDE) based at Yerevan in the
Republic of Armenia, is a non-profit organization that was established to
help improve the healthcare system and make it more available to those that
do not have immediate access to, or cannot afford, such services. With
funding from The Smile Train, UDE will to widen their services to help even
more impoverished children with clefts and also improve the quality of their
cleft care. Under the supervision of the Chief of the Maxillo-facial
Department at Hospital No. 3, Khachatrian Gregor, UDE will help many more
children with clefts and take another stride towards their goal in bettering
the healthcare system.

Yerevan State Medical University
The Yerevan State Medical University located at Yerevan in the Republic of
Armenia, has been involved with cleft care for nearly 40 years.
Unfortunately, they were limited in their ability to provide free or
discounted surgeries for indigent children who have cleft lip and palate,
until they sought help through a Treatment Grant. With funding from The
Smile Train Dr. Armen Avagyan and his team at Yerevan State Medical
University will be able to reach out to many more impoverished children with
cleft lip and palate.
