Martagao Gesteira Hospital
Martagao Gesteira Hospital is dedicated to serving under-privileged children in the city of Salvador, its metropolitan area, and other cities within the state of Bahia. In 2001, the hospital provided services to over 500,000 indigenous families. Dr. Geza Laszlo Urmenyi, Coordinator of Plastic Surgery services in the hospital, leads The Smile Train's Partnership with the hospital. Through this Partnership, Martagao Gesteira has provided 215 cleft surgeries, and will perform an additional 100 surgeries this year.
