Burn/CLP Project, Yekatit 12
The Burn/CLP Project at Yekatit 12 is a center of excellence for cleft care in Ethiopia. Since the inception of the cleft lip and palate program, the Burn/CLP Project has provided comprehensive team care, consisting of plastic surgeons, ENT surgeons, dentists, and speech therapists. In addition, the Burn/CLP Project treats over 200 cleft patients a year and strives to provide cleft treatment to underprivileged patients.
To help realize the goals of the Burn/CLP Project at Yekatit 12, The Smile Train awarded the Burn/CLP Project a Treatment Partnership in November 2006. The partnership will support the treatment of 100 underprivileged patients with cleft lip and palate in Ethiopia. In addition, The Smile Train partnership will enable the Burn/CLP Project to improve quality of care and cleft awareness in the population.
