St. Joseph Mercy Hospital
The Wishbone Project is part of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, providing care for the underserved and economically disadvantaged people of Guyana. The Smile Train became a part of this project in November of 2005 and has been providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children that would not otherwise receive them since then. Sister Sheila Walsh oversees the program and has helped 44 children receive treatment thus far. The goal is to repair every cleft lip and palate in Guyana.
