Robert J. Demuth, M.D., Retired Professor of Plastic Surgery, OHSU,
helped arrange an extensive surgical training trip for Dr. Attila
M. Vastyan to visit cleft centers in the United States. Dr. Vastyan
is currently a pediatric surgeon in Pecs, Hungary, who leads a cleft
team and the cleft surgeries in his hospital and region. This training
included one month at Akron Children's Hospital with Dr. Jim Lehman,
5 days at the University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Don LaRossa, training
at the Copper Clinic with Dr. Marty Mathews, and attendance at the
Cleft 2001 Congress in Sweden.
