B & B Hospital
B & B Hospital is a teaching hospital for Kathmandu University Medical School that is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to cleft care. In July of 2006, The Smile Train provided a Treatment Grant to support surgical care for indigent children with cleft lip and palate in Nepal and to improve the quality of care being provided. The program will be led by Dr. Prashant Shrestha.

Impact Nepal
Impact Nepal is a non-profit organization that is working for prevention of avoidable disability in Nepal. The Smile Train has provided Impact Nepal with funding to jointly organize a cleft surgery camp with Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital that will be led by Dr. Ishwar Lohani. They will provide free treatment for 40 impoverished children in Nepal suffering from cleft lip and/or palate.

Interplast Incubator Site
The Smile Train supports an Incubator Program in Nepal through Interplast,
Inc. This program, led by Dr. Shankar Man Rai in Katmandu, began
in 1999. Over 2,800 children with cleft lip and palate in Nepal
have received surgical care through this Incubator Program. In addition
to performing cleft surgeries, Dr. Rai has recruited two surgical
fellows to work with him, Dr. Bohare and Dr. Nikarmi, and the team
has traveled throughout Nepal to help children in need.
