Held in Göteborg, Sweden from June 25th -29th, 2001, the Cleft Congress brought together nearly 1000 medical professionals. The Smile Train offered scholarships for medical professionals to attend from Ecuador, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Chile, Russia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Brazil, Romania, Thailand, China, and the Philippines. Throughout the Congress, The Smile Train booth previewed the Virtual Surgery Training Videos and The Smile Train Express-a free, secure, web-based patient database. Smile Train partners were warmly celebrated with a reception and dinner.
