Bridge to Turkiye Fund (BTF)
The Bridge to Turkiye Fund, based in North Carolina, is a non profit charitable organization focusing its attention on the Turkish-American Community. The BTF raises money to support children in need living in Turkey, and much of their work is done through Mersin hospital, a partner hospital to The Smile Train, located in Mersin, Turkey. The president of The Bridge to Turkiye Fund, Emin Pamucak, contacted The Smile Train in hopes for a charitable match to the money that was raised at the Annual Turkish-American Community Fund Raiser. The Smile Train agreed to match what they raised in order to double the amount of children that will receive free surgery, round trip transportation, lodging, and free hospital care at Mersin Hospital.

help of fulfilling this mission, the University has received a Treatment
Grant from The Smile Train which will not only fund treatment
for poor children, but will also fund a lodging place for indigent
families outside of Mersin to stay when they come to the University
Hospital for treatment. Ferit Demirkan, M.D. heads the program there.
