Operation Rainbow
Operation Rainbow used its Education and Training Grant to fund post-graduate education for cleft surgeons in Venezuela and Mexico. In conjunction with each surgical mission the organization performs, its volunteer medical teams also teach their host colleagues state-of-the-art techniques that enhance the quality and continuity of patient care and promote self-reliance. Founder and Chairman William B. Riley, Jr. said, "The Smile Train is an organization similar to Operation Rainbow in its intrinsic value system and overarching goal which is to identify a need and to provide a critical service to a specific population of children."
