American Academy of Pediatrics
Thanh Hoa Hospital in Vietnam serves the Thanh Hoa province, which
has one of the highest incidences of cleft lip and palate in the
country. The hospital was in need of assistance to attend to the
cleft lip and palate patients. This was accomplished through a Smile
Train Treatment Grant. The grant provided physicians at Thanh Hoa
General Hospital with the modern surgical instruments necessary
to perform cleft lip and palate operations.

Hanoi Plastic Surgery Center
Hanoi Plastic Surgery Center, located in Hanoi, Vietnam, has been involved in cleft care since 1990. They provide free surgery for poor children in 24 provinces in northern Vietnam as well as in adjacent countries. They also send their local doctors to remote locations in order to treat an average of 100-150 children who are suffering with cleft lip and/or palate but who are unable to reach their facilities. Financial support from The Smile Train helps to provide the Hanoi Plastic Surgery Center with the proper equipment and materials needed for the surgeries, free meals and hospital stay for patients, and team transportation.
